Ready to crochet a cute and nifty bag with a touch of whimsy?
The Strawberry Knot Bag is a striped pouch with a cute strawberry and flower charm, which doubles up as a bookmark or car rearview mirror hanging ornament. This pattern is very relaxing to make as it is designed with an easy and repetitive stitch.
Construction
The bag is made completely in one piece, requiring sewing only for one end of the straps. The charm is also low-sew, requiring only one point of attachment.
Add an optional cloth lining in the bag and underside of the straps for durability.
Yarn
This bag is designed using 24/7 Cotton Yarn, which is a 100% cotton yarn that has a light sheen and comes in many shades! It's very sturdy and durable, and doesn't stretch out of shape like acrylic or other fibers do.
Use 100% cotton yarn to minimize stretching.
I had lots of leftover yarn (pictured below with a full skein to the right for comparison) in all colors after finishing the entire bag, so you can safely use the different colors in a flexible range of combinations:
Gifting
This pouch is perfect for kids, adults, teachers, friends, parents, and more! It’s a great Mother’s Day gift, birthday gift, Teacher Appreciation gift, Christmas holiday gift, and craft fair product.

Strawberry Ornament
The Strawberry Ornament is made using my free Strawberry Bookmark pattern.FINISHING
- Lay the bag flat. Fold the long and short straps in half, so that the ends can be sewn to the other side of the bag.
- Add the strawberry charm (pattern on next page) by folding the stem in half, looping it around the shorter strap, and pulling the strawberry and flower through the loop.
- If desired, you may add a cloth lining inside the bag and to the underside of the straps to provide more support and durability.
