The Pocket Bluey and Bingo pattern makes a baby version of our favorite blue heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) and red heeler. Bluey and Bingo both use the same pattern, but with different yarn colors.

About the Pattern

  • Quick to work up
  • Easy
  • Designed with super bulky weight 6 chenille velvet yarn, but can be crocheted using thiner yarns in cotton or acrylic as well
  • Available as a FREE video tutorial
  • Available as a printable PDF pattern download as well, if you prefer written instructions

Uses

There are many ways to make use of this pattern, such as:
  • Keychain: add a keyring
  • Ornament: add a hanging loop and put it on your Christmas tree
  • Gift: perfect birthday gift, holiday gift, or stocking stuffer for child and adult Bluey fans
  • Party favors: great for a Bluey themed party
  • Craft fair product: sell it at handmade craft markets, especially those catered to children. This is a great market prep pattern to work up because it's quick, easy, and the characters are recognizable!
  • Random Acts of Crochet Kindness: hide them around in the community with a little message as gifts to whoever finds them! You can also make these for charity.

Yarn

I designed these plush dog stuffed animals using velvet chenille yarn and a 5mm hook. They came out very squishie and soft! My recommended plush yarns would be Hobbii yarn (Honey Bunny, Toucan, or Baby Snuggle).

Of course, you can also try thinner yarns or other types of fibers to create a different look. For instance, worsted medium weight 4 yarn (e.g., Lion Brand Heartland24/7 Cotton YarnBrava Worsted or Caron Simply Soft) and a smaller hook (2.75mm) will produce a small, keychain-sized doll. It would make the perfect "backpack buddy"!

    PDF Pattern
