The Pocket Alien & UFO pattern is the star of Sweet Softies' eighth annual Creator Challenge! This adorable no-sew duo is not only fun, fast, and easy to work up, it also lends the opportunity for lots of play. This base pattern can easily be customized with different color combinations and creative details.

Construction: The UFO is completely no-sew and begins from the seat first, then top-down for the exterior. The upper trim, middle ring, and feet are added afterwards.
Use dark grey (or desired color) yarn.
R1: Ch 2. Insert 8 sc in the 2nd ch from hook. (8)
R2: Inc around. (16)
R3: (Sc, inc) x 8. (24)
R4-R8: Sc around. (24)
Switch to light grey (or desired color) yarn.
R9: Sc around. (24)
The seat of the UFO is complete. Do not turn this piece right-side out. Continue with crocheting the exterior of the UFO below.
R10: (Sc 2, inc) x 8 in BLO. (32)
R11: (Sc 3, inc) x 8. (40)
R12: (Sc 4, inc) x 8. (48)
R13: (Sc 5, inc) x 8. (56)
R14: Sc around. (56)
R15: Sc around in BLO. (56)
R16: (Sc 5, dec) x 8. (48)
R17: (Sc 4, dec) x 8. (40)

Lightly stuff the bottom of the UFO. This will allow the bottom to appear more rounded.
