- Start with plush yarn for the stocking portion, switch to faux fur for the fluff portion, then switch back to plush yarn for the hanging loop.
- If you’d like to change yarn colors in the stocking, I recommend using a secondary color for R1-R4 (toe), and R8-R12 (heel). Use the main color for all other rows.
- Photo references are available in the PDF pattern.
TOE
Note: Work in continuous rounds for this section.Use plush yarn.
R1: Ch 2 and insert 10 hdc in the 3rd ch from hook. *Join with a sl st to the first hdc. (10)
R2: Ch, hdc-inc around. *Join. (20)
R3-R7: Ch, hdc around. *Join. (20)
HEEL
Note: Work in turned rows for this section.R8: Ch, hdc 10, and leave the rest of the 10 sts in the previous round unworked. (10)

R12: Ch, turn. Hdc2tog 2. (2)
BODY
Note: Return to working in continuous rounds for this section.R13: Without turning your work like in previous rounds, begin working towards the toe. Place marker to indicate the new start of the round. Hdc 5 across the heel rows in the direction towards the toe (Note: insert a hdc in each of the 5 rows). Hdc2tog when you arrive at the unworked sts in R7. Hdc 8. Hdc2tog. Hdc 5 across the other side of the heel rows. Hdc 2 across the top of R12 (Note: insert a hdc in each of the 2 sts). (22)
R14-R15: Hdc around. (22)
R16: (Hdc 10, hdc-inc) x 2. (24)
R17: Hdc around. (24)
R18: (Hdc 11, hdc-inc) x 2. (26)

R23: Hdc around. (30)
R24: (Hdc 14, hdc-inc) x 2. (32)
R25: Hdc around. (32)
At this point, fold the stocking flat. We will add a few more sts until reaching the very back of the stocking, which will be the new start to the round. (I added 5 more sts.) The last three sts should be: hdc, sc, sl st.
FO with a tail to weave in later.
FLUFF
Note: Faux fur yarn is typically furrier on the wrong side, so it is advised to attach your yarn from the inside of the stocking, crocheting in the opposite direction. We will now work in joined rounds. Insert hook to the back of the stocking, from the inside of the stocking so that we can work in the opposite direction.
R26-R28: Ch 2, dc around. *Join with a sl st to the first dc. (32)
Without FO, continue with the hanging loop instructions below.
HANGING LOOP
Switch back to plush yarn.Ch 10, or however long you’d like the hanging loop to be.
Sl st in the same st.
FO with a tail. Tie the starting and ending yarn tails securely, then weave them in.
Congratulations on finishing your stocking!
