Ever wanted to crochet the fluffiest, most adorable llama ever?
Curly the Llama is an adorable alpaca made using Hobbii’s Steviedoodle Yarn, giving it its signature fluffy and curly-haired look! This cute yet realistic looking amigurumi looks super cozy in a hat and colorful rug with tassels!
This design was created using a combination of bulky curly yarn as well as thin fingering weight 1 cotton yarn for a unique look. Suitable for intermediate or advanced crocheters who have worked with textured yarn and know the basic amigurumi stitches, this plush toy makes a great gift or craft fair product!

Recommended Yarn
This sweet doll is designed with a combination of Hobbii's Steviedoodle Yarn and Friends Cotton 8/4.
Steviedoodle is a textured, bulky weight yarn that I use with a 5mm hook to produce tight stitches for amigurumi. Its curly fibers are difficult to see, so you generally need to feel for the stitches. While that can make it challenging to work with at first, the learning curve is quite steep! After you get used to it, you'll get faster at crocheting with it. Another perk to crocheting with textured yarn is that it's easy to hide mistakes. It's also easy to sew pieces together without ugly stitches showing, because it's all hidden underneath the curly fibers! In other words, it's quite forgiving to work with.
In addition, you might be pleased to learn that this design doesn't require much shaping at all, as the legs are all crocehted separately to be sewn onto the body. The head and body are crocheted in one piece, but the shaping is simple enough to use with Steviedoodle yarn!
